Pre-Drilling Pressure Prediction
GPA is a new product of LandOcean developed on the unified EPoffice platform after several years of
research and development
Pore pressure prediction points the way to drilling a well safely and in the most cost-effective manner. EPoffice GPA makes it possible for different workflows to be tailored for pore pressure prediction for different cases of data availability. Pressure rock physics model is established, optimized and selected based on borehole measured pressure data. Pressure data can be derived in 3D space using the optimal prediction model and 3D velocity field, and then are used for regional or predrill pressure analysis.
General at first, pressure rock physics model is established, optimized and selected based on borehole measured pressure data. Secondly 3D velocity model is established from both well logging data and seismic velocity data. Then pressure data can be derived in 3D space using the optimal prediction model and 3D velocity field. Finally the predicted pore pressure gradient and fracture pressure gradient are analyzed and calibrated for drill planning.
